SCIA holds its regular meeting

Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) chaired the council’s regular meeting.

The council praised the important and profound contents of the Royal speech of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, during the 18th Consultative Meeting of the Supreme Council of GCC and the GCC- Central Asia Summit (C5).

It commended HM the King’s reference to the deep historical ties between the GCC countries and their strong cooperative relations, based on serious endeavours to bridge visions, and based on promoting common vital interests to protect Islamic spiritual values and civilizational gains, and on organising collective action to spread the culture of peace and tolerance, enriching channels of dialogue between religions and civilizations, criminalizing religious, sectarian and racist hate speech, and deterring hostile terrorist forces by combating their organizations and funding sources, with the goal of building a regional community based on peaceful coexistence and mutual trust, preserving the sovereignty of states and their right to a long-term development renaissance.

On the occasion of the new Hijri year, the SCIA extended its congratulations to HM the King, and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

They also congratulated HM the King on the occasion of Bahrain being awarded the best office for pilgrims’ affairs among three countries with the highest satisfaction rate from Bahraini pilgrims for the Hajj season of 1444 AH.

The council condemned the repeated act of burning the Holy Quran and invading its sanctity in some European countries, urging the international community to take an urgent and firm stance against this practice, which contradicts the values of religious freedom and coexistence.
