Second Phase of AFC ‘A’ Level Football Coaching Diploma Closes on a High Note

Doha: The second phase of the AFC "A" Level Football Coaching Diploma, organized by the Development Department of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) under the supervision of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), successfully concluded at Al Sailiya Sports Club.

According to Qatar News Agency, this week-long phase placed profound emphasis on the defensive dimension, combining theoretical instruction with on-site practical sessions that delivered a comprehensive exposition of contemporary defensive frameworks and applied strategies in zonal marking systems. The program also focused on the tactical interplay between defensive assignments and offensive priorities to ensure optimal team cohesion and balance across the pitch.

Beyond tactical training, the program dedicated significant focus to leadership acumen and coach personality development. Lecturers, including Dr. Mohammed Gado and Wassam Shamel, examined the concept of a coach's "technical identity" and strategies for cultivating it, along with foundations for constructing resilient and high-performing squads, match management techniques, and game-reading intelligence. Advanced methodologies for handling elite players, including leveraging the psychological profiles of star athletes, were also covered to maximize team performance.

This initiative aligns with the strategic agenda of the QFA's Development Department, spearheaded by Executive Director Fahad Thani Al Zaraa. It aims to produce a generation of coaches equipped with precise tactical acumen, advanced leadership capabilities, and the operational expertise required to excel in professional football environments. Abdulqader Al Mughaiseeb, Education Advisor and Technical Supervisor at QFA, also played a pivotal role in mentoring participants throughout the program.

Learners will continue through subsequent phases to meet the diploma requirements, earning a prestigious qualification that empowers them to orchestrate teams at the highest competitive tiers and implement sophisticated tactical systems.
