Series of Earthquakes Hit Aegean Sea, Western Turkiye

Doha: A series of moderate earthquakes have struck the Aegean Sea in western Turkiye since dawn Thursday. According to Turkish Anadolu Agency (AA), seven earthquakes measuring between 4.1 and 4.6 on the Richter scale occurred at a depth of 7 km.

An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale, and at a depth of 7 km was recorded yesterday. Turkiye, which lies on one of the world's major earthquake fault lines, experienced a devastating earthquake on Feb. 6, 2023, that killed more than 50,000 people, caused significant damage to infrastructure, and left thousands injured.
