Doha: The Jordan-based Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation (AHSF) unveiled Sunday the names of the winners of its Award for Arab Researchers during its 44th cycle, with 12 researchers of both genders hailing from across the Arab world winning the award in six scientific fields.
According to Qatar News Agency, CEO of AHSF Valentina Kassisieh stated that the foundation has been dedicated to supporting Arab scientific research over more than four decades. She highlighted the importance of strengthening the stature of scholars and researchers as they work towards development and progress.
Kassisieh emphasized that leveraging knowledge and scientific research is the most enduring pathway to building the future and navigating the rapid challenges unfolding in Arab societies. The award reflects the foundation's commitment to fostering scientific advancement.
The selection process for this cycle saw 656 applicants, with 296 submissions excluded for being incomplete or failing to meet the requirements. Meanwhile, 360 applications underwent peer review by specialized reviewers from around the globe, adhering to specific and rigorous scientific criteria.
