Doha: HE Minister for Social and Family Development of the Republic of Singapore, Masagos Zulkifli, affirmed that the Second World Summit for Social Development, which opens Tuesday in Doha, represents an opportunity to reinforce the United Nations' and the international community's role in bridging gaps in social development and advancing social justice.
According to Qatar News Agency, during his participation in the Doha Solutions Forum for Social Development on Monday, he described the summit as an important platform for exchanging expertise and learning from the experiences of different countries to close divides and promote development and social justice, as well as a chance to understand challenges and build lasting networks of collaboration.
The Singaporean minister emphasized that the key to effecting global change lies in lifelong learning, particularly in light of current technological shifts that demand advanced skills and the creation of innovative educational models within traditional education systems.
He stressed that education has the potential to bring transformative progress in social development. In this context, he outlined his country's experience in social development, noting that Singapore has a strong education system and recognized early on the importance of developing human skills in response to technological changes and the critical role of lifelong learning.
