Singapore’s Parliamentary Elections Begin

Doha: Polling stations across Singapore opened this morning for the country's general elections. A total of 211 candidates, including two independents, are contesting 97 elected parliamentary seats. Of the 97 seats, the ruling People Action Party (PAP) has already secured five seats in a multi-member constituency, as no opposition candidates stood for those positions.

According to Qatar News Agency, approximately 2.76 million people in Singapore are eligible to vote in this election. The electoral process is a significant event in Singapore's political landscape, with voters engaging in the democratic process to elect their representatives.
