The Saudi Press Agency captured a stunning celestial event tonight as Venus, the brightest planet, made a close approach to the Moon. This phenomenon, known as a conjunction, occurred in the sky after sunset over the Northern Border region and was visible to the naked eye. A conjunction occurs when two celestial objects appear close to each other in the sky and share the same celestial longitude. Astronomy expert at the Afaq Society for Astronomy, Berjis Al-Fulaih, explained that Venus and the Moon were visible in the western sky after sunset, adding that they were easily observable with the naked eye. He noted that Venus is often referred to as the "Evening Star" or the "Morning Star," depending on its position in the west or east. Source: Saudi Press Agency
