Doha: HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim held a meeting with HE President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic, Lorenzo Fontana, who is currently visiting the country. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between Qatar and Italy, with a particular emphasis on parliamentary collaboration. Both leaders highlighted the necessity of strengthening parliamentary cooperation channels and increasing coordination in international parliamentary forums.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting also covered the ongoing developments in the Gaza Strip. HE Speaker of the Shura Council underlined the essential role parliaments must play in addressing moral and humanitarian issues. He emphasized the importance of exerting pressure to end aggression against the Palestinian people and urged European parliaments to adopt more effective stances. These actions are seen as crucial in contributing to halting the worsening humanitarian situation and supporting international efforts towards justice and peace.
