Sultan of Oman and Turkish President Oversee Signing of Bilateral Agreements and MoUs

Muscat: Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan witnessed the signing of a joint declaration, a statement, six agreements, and eight memoranda of understanding during the Turkish President's state visit to the Sultanate of Oman. This official event marked a significant step in strengthening the diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the documents signed included the establishment of the Omani-Turkish Coordination Council, aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation and coordination across various sectors. Additionally, capital sharing agreements were signed between several companies from Oman and Turkey, paving the way for increased investment and economic collaboration.

The memoranda of understanding spanned multiple areas of cooperation. Key sectors covered included military and defense industries, technology and innovation, and strategic collaboration between the Oman Investment Authority and the Turkish Sovereign Wealth Fund. Further agreements focused on cooperation in mining and rare metals, along with a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Information in Oman and the Directorate of Communications of the Turkish Presidency, underscoring the commitment to improving communication and information exchange.
