Doha:The Supreme Judicial Council and the General Tax Authority have entered into a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing institutional integration and improving electronic connectivity procedures between the two entities.
According to Qatar News Agency, the memorandum was signed by Judge Dr. Mohammed Imran Ali Al Kuwari, representing the Supreme Judicial Council, and Ismail Mohammed Al Sayed Al Mansouri, Assistant President of the General Tax Authority for Support Services. The signing was witnessed by Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Hassan Al Muhannadi, President of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Court of Cassation, and Khalifa bin Jassim Al Jaham Al Kuwari, President of the General Tax Authority.
The memorandum is expected to enhance procedural efficiency, expedite transaction completion, and support judicial committees with joint jurisdiction, such as the Tax Grievance Committee. It emphasizes information exchange, supports digital transformation efforts, and aims to develop a framework for joint operations.
By strengthening the partnership and integration of efforts, the memorandum seeks to utilize electronic connectivity to improve workflows and increase efficiency. This aligns with the shared objectives of both entities and serves the public interest by ensuring data quality and security while maintaining confidentiality.
The agreement also provides for the potential expansion of cooperation areas, allowing for additional services and data exchanges as mutually agreed, in line with technological advancements and operational needs.
The Authority has reiterated its commitment to working with national institutions to support service digitization and procedural development, contributing to more efficient taxpayer services and improved user experiences.
