Syria Condemns Israeli Actions on “Sufa 53” Line as Violation of International Law

Doha:The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned Israel for its continued military activities on Syrian territory, focusing on the completion of the "Sufa 53" line.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry released a statement labeling these actions a breach of the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement and a violation of international law. The Syrian government argues that Israel's ongoing attacks and ground incursions pose a direct threat to regional security and stability.

The statement reiterated Syria's claim to exercise full sovereignty over its territory in line with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. Syria has called on the international community to take decisive action to stop these Israeli activities and prevent future occurrences.

Israeli forces have reportedly been conducting excavation work along the separation line with the occupied Golan Heights. The "Sufa 53" project involves creating an 8-meter-wide military road, fortified with 5-meter-high earthen berms, and includes trenches and observation posts in the buffer zone near the village of Al-Asha in the Quneitra countryside.
