Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance Affirms His Country’s Welcome of Qatari Investments Across All Sectors


Doha: HE Minister of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkiye, Mehmet Simsek, affirmed the excellent relations between Turkiye and the State of Qatar, emphasizing the importance of cooperation through the establishment of joint ventures – whether in Qatar, Turkiye, or in external markets such as Africa, East Asia, and other emerging economies.



According to Qatar News Agency, during a meeting on Tuesday with Board Member of Qatar Chamber, Eng. Ali bin Abdul Latif Al Misnad, the Turkish minister said that his country welcomes Qatari investments across all sectors, including technology, renewable energy, infrastructure, industry, agriculture, and tourism.



The two sides also discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade and economic fields, the investment climate, available opportunities, and the potential to establish business alliances between Qatari and Turkish companies.



For his part, Eng. Al Misnad praised the strong fraternal ties between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkiye, particularly in trade and economic domains. He affirmed Qatar Chamber’s readiness to further strengthen cooperation across various sectors.



Al Misnad noted that the volume of trade between the two countries reached approximately QR 4.18 billion in 2024, including Qatari exports worth QR 1.5 billion and imports from Turkiye amounting to QR 2.6 billion. He added that more than 140 Turkish companies are operating in the Qatari market, 16 of which are fully Turkish-owned, while the rest are joint ventures with Qatari partners across various sectors.



He also expressed Qatar Chamber’s aspiration for the private sector to capitalize on the available opportunities and initiatives to further enhance growth and development in the partnership between Qatari and Turkish companies across all sectors.
