Turkish President and US Counterpart Discuss Bilateral Relations and Gaza Situation


Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan engaged in a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump to discuss bilateral relations and the ongoing situation in the Gaza Strip.



According to Qatar News Agency, a statement from the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Directorate highlighted Erdogan’s emphasis on the necessity of halting the Israeli entity’s attacks on Palestinians to ensure the success of peace efforts in the region. Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s relentless commitment to fostering peace, particularly in Gaza, and expressed support for any initiatives aligned with this objective.



The statement further noted that President Erdogan underscored the significance of his recent visit to the United States in fortifying bilateral relations. He emphasized the critical importance of enhancing cooperation across various sectors, with particular attention to the defense industry.
