Turkish President Stresses Serious Humanitarian Situation in Gaza to US Counterpart

Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed Monday to his US counterpart, Donald Trump, that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached dangerous proportions. This came during a phone call that addressed bilateral relations and regional and international developments.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, the Turkish President highlighted the seriousness of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, which is subjected to a stifling Israeli blockade. Erdogan stressed that Turkiye is making efforts to protect Syria's territorial integrity and ensure its stability. He added that the United States' easing of sanctions on Syria will contribute to this process, and that a stable Syria will support regional and global peace.

The Turkish President expressed his appreciation for the negotiation process with Iran regarding its nuclear program and the efforts made by the US administration to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. During the call, Erdogan indicated that Turkiye will continue to take steps to enhance cooperation with the United States in many areas, especially the defense industry.
