Twelve Palestinians Martyred in Israeli Occupation Airstrikes on Khan Younis, Deir Al Balah

Gaza: Twelve Palestinians, including children and women, were martyred and several others injured on Sunday in Israeli airstrikes targeting central and southern Gaza.

According to Qatar News Agency, a QNA correspondent quoted a medical source in Khan Younis city as saying that eight people-including four children and a woman-were killed when an Israeli airstrike hit a tent sheltering displaced persons northwest of Khan Younis. The source noted that among the victims were five siblings from one family and a man and his son from another family. Medical teams transported the bodies to the hospital.

Meanwhile, four Palestinians were martyred and others injured in another Israeli airstrike targeting Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.

Earlier today, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression and genocide campaign against Gaza has risen to 52,243 martyrs and 117,639 wounded since October 7, 2023. In a press statement, the ministry said that since March 18-when Israeli forces resumed its offensive after a temporary ceasefire-2,151 Palestinians have been martyred and 5,598 injured.

It also reported that in the past 24 hours alone, 51 martyrs and 115 wounded were received at Gaza’s hospitals, with many victims still trapped under the rubble and in the streets, unreachable by ambulance and civil defense crews.

The Israeli occupation resumed its aggression on March 18 after a two-month ceasefire that had been in place since January 19. However, throughout the ceasefire period, Israeli forces repeatedly violated the truce terms by continuing its attacks across Gaza, causing additional casualties, refusing to uphold humanitarian protocols, and intensifying its suffocating blockade on the already devastated territory, which is enduring an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.
