Jiftlik: Two Palestinian children were martyred and three others injured Tuesday when an Israeli army landmine exploded in the town of Jiftlik in the central Jordan Valley, north of Jericho in the occupied West Bank.
According to Qatar News Agency, local sources reported that five children from Jiftlik were in the fields of the neighboring village of Furush Beit Dajan when a landmine left behind by the Israeli army exploded, killing two children and seriously injuring three others.
The sources confirmed that Israeli forces closed off the area after the incident, deployed reinforcements, prevented anyone from approaching, and transferred the injured children to Israeli hospitals.
