UDST’s Role in Web Summit 2025 Highlights Innovation and Entrepreneurship Commitment

Doha: Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Doha for Science and Technology, Sylia Khecheni, affirmed that the Web Summit 2025 is one of the most important global events in the fields of technology and entrepreneurship. She highlighted that the university's participation through its business incubator "UHUB" reflects its commitment to supporting innovation and fostering entrepreneurship.

According to Qatar News Agency, Khecheni explained that the university's presence at the summit aims to connect entrepreneurs with investors, strengthen collaboration between the academic and industrial sectors, and empower students to transform their research ideas into successful business ventures. She emphasized the pivotal role that the "UHUB" incubator plays in supporting university innovation and turning research projects into viable and scalable startups.

She pointed out that workshops, discussion sessions, networking events, and opportunities for students and innovators to showcase their ideas to investors and decision-makers will be organized during the summit. The university's activities at the summit include a workshop on university and commercial innovation, which will discuss how to turn academic research into successful projects, and a session on funding for university entrepreneurs, with specialized investors sharing their insights on securing financing for university-based projects.

Additionally, there will be sessions for rapid networking with investors and mentors, providing a unique opportunity for founders to quickly present their ideas to potential investors. The "Meet the Startups" event will also be held, allowing entrepreneurs at "UHUB" to present their projects to a distinguished group of investors and relevant stakeholders.

She emphasized that technology and innovation are the foundation for building a knowledge-based economy, which is one of the main goals of Qatar's National Vision 2030. She noted that by supporting startups and advancing scientific research, the university contributes to enhancing technological entrepreneurship and enabling Qatari youth to become successful entrepreneurs at both local and international levels.
