Doha: UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer discussed, during a phone call with his Canadian counterpart Mark Carney, ways to deal with US tariffs and their impact on the global economy.
According to Qatar News Agency, a statement issued by the British Prime Minister’s Office stated that Starmer and Carney discussed the two sides’ commitment to working together to maintain global economic stability, and stressed that a comprehensive trade war is in neither side’s interest.
The two sides also agreed on the importance of free and open trade between like-minded countries.
The British Prime Minister explained that trading blocs, such as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, will be important in this new global era.
