Kyiv: The Ukrainian authorities announced Sunday that they had bombed multiple Russian territories with drones, including an oil pipeline pumping station, an oil refinery, and a fuel depot.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ukrainian forces attacked the Saratov Oil Refinery on the Volga River, setting it ablaze, and struck the Lazarevo Oil Pumping Station in Russia's Kirov Region, north-east of Moscow. This station is part of the Surgut-Polotsk oil pipeline, which transports Russian oil from Siberia to Belarus, as confirmed by the Ukrainian General Staff in a statement today.
Sources in Matveyev Kurgan region reported the eruption of a massive fire following the drone offensive on a fuel depot located in the town contiguous with the Russia-controlled part of Donetsk Oblast.
On Saturday, the Russian forces conducted strikes on the infrastructure of military airfields, as well as fuel and energy facilities in Ukraine, marking a new escalation in the ongoing war that has been raging between the two countries since Feb. 24, 2022.
