Doha: Ukraine has launched strikes on power facilities, which caused electricity cuts for over 20,000 people in numerous border zones, the Russian authorities announced.
According to Qatar News Agency, Governor of the Belgorod Oblast, Vyacheslav Gladkov, clarified that the electricity and heating networks sustained severe damage in the city of Belgorod, the capital of the region of the same name. He noted that several streets are facing power outages, and over 20,000 residents are without electricity.
Governor of Kursk Oblast, Alexander Khinshtein, reported that a fire broke out in a power plant in Korenevo Village of Kursk Oblast, causing power outages in ten towns.
Governor of the Voronezh Oblast, Aleksandr Gusev, highlighted that a fire broke out in a heating facility in southern Russia.
These attacks come on the eve of Russian strikes that hit energy facilities in Ukraine, prompting the Ukrainian authorities to restore electricity and heating after the National Energy Company announced that its production capacity had dropped to zero today.
