Ukraine’s Zelenskyy Urges EU to Uphold Sanctions on Moscow

Brussels: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on European Union leaders to maintain sanctions against Moscow until it begins its withdrawal from Ukrainian territory, urging for sustained European military support for Kyiv.

According to Qatar News Agency, Zelenskyy emphasized that sanctions must remain in place until Russia begins its withdrawal and has fully compensated for the damage caused by its aggression. He conveyed this message in a video address to the EU summit that concluded today in Brussels.

He further stated that despite Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claims of willingness to halt attacks, nothing has changed. Zelenskyy highlighted that following a phone call with his US counterpart, Donald Trump, Russia launched a massive drone attack overnight, with a total of 171 drones targeting Ukrainian infrastructure.
