UNA, Tatmedia to Organize Media Forum in Kazan on Content Development Trends

Jeddah: The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) and the Tatmedia News Agency in Tatarstan are organizing a media forum Wednesday, May 15, on media trends in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries and the world, as part of the Kazan Forum 2024 held in the Russian Federation.

The event, organized in partnership with the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group and the Permanent Mission of Russia to the OIC, consists of two main sessions: the first on “The main trends in the transformation of the information field in the modern world and the OIC countries,” and the second on “Unification of the information space or its segmentation.”

During the sessions, media experts from the Islamic world and Russia will discuss transformations in the global information landscape, including their impact on ending monopoly ownership of the news stream and building parity in the global information space based on cooperation and interaction with the outside world.

Union of OIC News Agencies acting Director-Gen
eral Mohammed Abd Rabbo Al-Yami noted that the forum comes within the union’s efforts to enhance communication between member agencies and media institutions in Islamic countries with their international counterparts, especially in the Russian Federation, which holds observer status in the OIC and hosts a large Muslim population within a framework of religious coexistence and cultural diversity.
