Under Patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and on His Behalf, Riyadh Governor to Attend King Faisal Prize Ceremony on Monday


Riyadh: Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and on his behalf, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh Region, is scheduled to attend a ceremony next Monday to hand over awards for laureates of the 46th King Faisal Prize in Riyadh.

The prize secretariat earlier announced the winners’ names of the 46th session for 2024. The Service to Islam Prize was jointly awarded to the Japan Muslim Association and Dr. Mohammad Al-Sammak of Lebanon. The Islamic Studies Prize was granted to Dr. Wael Hallaq, a US national, while the Arabic Language and Literature Prize was withheld.

Dr. Jerry Roy Mendell, a US national, was granted the Medicine Prize, while Dr. Howard Yuan-Hao Chang, a US national, won the Science Prize.

The King Faisal Prize was first awarded in 1979 and has been awarded to more than 295 scientists from 45 countries, many of whom have later received prestigious international awards.
