Doha: The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced today that the Israeli occupation forces continue to maintain a military presence and conduct operations within the UN peacekeeping mission’s area of operations.
According to Qatar News Agency, UNIFIL reported that its forces observed Israeli troops firing heavy machine guns northward near the town of Serda in the eastern sector of southern Lebanon.
The mission also noted that Israeli soldiers directed a “green laser” at UNIFIL personnel at one of the UN sites in the eastern sector. Additionally, an Israeli soldier pointed his weapon at UN personnel near Marwahin in the western sector. UNIFIL stressed the need to bring an end to such actions.
