Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Saturday, called for the urgent entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip as the winter season approaches.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a post on X, UNRWA expressed concerns over the growing need for shelter and warmth among the people in Gaza. They highlighted that essential shelter materials and winter supplies for displaced families remain in UNRWA warehouses in Jordan and Egypt, unable to reach those in need due to blockages.
UNRWA further elaborated on the severe conditions faced by displaced people who have been living in tents since the war began two years ago. These tents lack basic protection, leaving inhabitants vulnerable to harsh weather conditions. The agency noted that the lack of adequate shelter has led to several deaths, particularly among children, during the severe cold over the past two winters.
