Doha: The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, on Friday highlighted the continued violation of the rights of Palestinians in Gaza, stressing that the residents of the Strip have undergone systematic dehumanization. Posting on X platform, Lazzarini said: “Human rights cannot be applied selectively.” “Palestinians do matter, including those in Gaza. Their rights, lives and futures matter,” he added.
According to Qatar News Agency, Lazzarini quoted remarks made by the UN Secretary-General on the Palestinian matter, emphasizing that peace requires ending the occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, with Gaza as an integral part; a viable and sovereign Palestinian State.
