UNRWA Urges Safe Access for Humanitarian Aid in Gaza

Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) emphasized the urgent need to protect civilians in the Gaza Strip, highlighting the deteriorating conditions that make this a pressing humanitarian priority. The agency stressed the importance of securing safe and sustained access for humanitarian aid to the population in need.

According to Qatar News Agency, the UN agency underscored the necessity of enabling humanitarian workers and safeguarding humanitarian facilities and infrastructure. This protection is crucial for the continued delivery of essential services, such as primary healthcare, education, emergency relief, and food assistance to the most vulnerable families.

UNRWA continues its operations in the Gaza Strip despite significant challenges, fulfilling its UN mandate to ensure that aid reaches the hundreds of thousands of refugees who primarily depend on its services.

The agency called for the establishment of a safe environment that allows humanitarian teams to perform their duties without obstacles. This would ensure the protection of civilians and the uninterrupted flow of life-saving humanitarian assistance to all those in need in the Gaza Strip.
