US Stocks Close Higher with Gains Across Major Indices

New york: Major stock indices on Wall Street closed higher at the end of trading today. The Standard and Poor's 500 index closed up 46.06 points, or 0.72 percent, to close at 6,344.67. According to Qatar News Agency, the Nasdaq Composite Index also rose 251.97 points, or 1.21 percent, to 21,168.52. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 79.42 points, or 0.18 percent, to close at 44,191.16.
