Australia: The Australian government announced Friday that the new tariffs imposed by the US on imports will negatively impact approximately 3,000 Australian companies, particularly those operating in the medical, mining, and agricultural sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, Australian Treasurer Jim Chalmers stated that these measures, which target imports worth between $150 and $850 billion, will place an additional burden on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that rely on exports to the US market.
The Australian Chamber of Commerce confirmed that the tariffs could lead to increased production costs and a decline in the competitiveness of local companies. This development is expected to negatively impact job opportunities and investment in the Australian market.
