Winners of Boys’ Singles of Asian Junior Bowling Championships Crowned


Doha: The winners of the Boy’s Singles of the 24th Asian Junior Bowling Championships were crowned on Monday. Being hosted by the Qatar Bowling Federation in cooperation with the Asian Bowling Federation, the championship continues until August 2.



According to Qatar News Agency, Tan Dat Nguyen of Vietnam snatched the Boy’s Singles gold medal of the championships by one pin from Squad 1 leader, Walaphut Andrew Wong of Thailand, while Wan Muhammad Zarif Mazlan of Malaysia claimed the bronze medal. At the end of the competition, tournament director Salem Al Marzouqi crowned the winners of the first three places.



The continental championship is being held at the Qatar Bowling Center, with the participation of 79 male and 20 female players representing Qatar as the host, alongside Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, China, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Bahrain, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and India. The competition continues tomorrow with the Doubles competition for both boys and girls.



The Qatari team participating in the boys’ doubles competition includes Talal Al Marri, Ibrahim Al Muraikhi, Abdulrahman Al Dosari, Abdullah Al Dosari, Musaed Al Muraikhi, Ahmed Al Dosari, Hassan Al Muraikhi, and Hamad Al Abdullah.



Talking to Qatar News Agency, coach of the Kuwaiti bowling team Ayad Al Amiri said that the tournament is very special not only at the organizational level but also at the technical level, noting the high levels of performance from the participating players, despite their young age. He confirmed that they are facing a strong tournament at the technical level. He added that they participated in the Boys’ Singles competition and finished fifth and sixth, looking forward to performing at their best in the Doubles and Team competitions during the next phase.
