Al Attiyah Maintains Lead in Argentine Rally

Qatari driver Nasser Al Attiyah moved away at the top of the overall standings of the Argentine Rally Desafio Ruta 40, which constitutes the fourth and penultimate round of the W2RC Championship for the 2023 season organized by the International Automobile Federation, after winning the title of the second stage.

Al Attiyah, accompanied by his French navigator Mathieu Beaumel, on board a Toyota Hilux, completed the third circular stage around the city of Belen, with a total distance of 463 km, including 265 km speed-controlled and 197 arriving stages, in a time of 2.54.53 hours.

The Qatari driver was 1.41 minutes ahead of the Saudi driver Yazid Mohammed Al Rajhi, accompanied by his German navigator Timo Gottschalk, who was in second place, with a time of 2:56.34 hours.

Monaco Sign Balogun from Arsenal

AS Monaco have reached an agreement with Arsenal for the signing of striker Folarin Balogun in a GBP 35 million deal.

“AS Monaco are delighted to announce the arrival of striker Folarin Balogun from Arsenal. The 22-year-old American international has signed a five-season deal and is now tied to Monaco until June 2028,” the French club said in a statement on its website on Wednesday.

Born in 2001 in New York, Folarin Balogun moved to London with his family at the age of 2. The young Anglo-American grew up in England and began his football career with London club Albersbrook.

MoFA receives credentials copy from the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the UAE

H.E. Saif Abdulla Alshamisi,s Asistant Undersecretary for Protocol Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received a copy of the credentials of H.E. Olav Myklebust, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the UAE.

H.E. Saif Alshamisi wished the new Ambassador success in the performance of his duties and in enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between the UAE and his country.

The newly appointed Ambassador expressed his pleasure at representing his country in the United Arab Emirates, which enjoys a prestigious regional and international position under the visionary policy of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

Youth Minister meets HIPO-Youth batch

Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, met with members of the fifth batch of the national leadership programme HIPO-Youth.

The programme is organized by the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and INJAZ Bahrain.

The minister stressed the pivotal role played by Bahraini youth in advancing the development process in Bahrain, through their capabilities to initiate youth programmes that would raise the level of national aspirations.

Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, Director General of BIPA, explained that the meeting of the minister with the programme’s members is a meeting from youth to youth, which reflects what Bahrain possesses today in terms of youth energies and leaders capable of participating in the decision-making process.

She noted that the exchange of experiences and applied practices by an elite group of government leaders is a mechanism that has proven effectiveness in motivating and encouraging Bahraini youth to develop their abilities and skills, and come up with innovative ideas and projects that contribute to achieving national accomplishments that keep pace with government visions.

Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments,

received Tirtha Raj Wagle, Nepalese Ambassador to Bahrain.

The minister reviewed bilateral relations, and the continuous development they are witnessing at all levels, including the judicial field.

The meeting discussed topics of mutual interest, and aspects of judicial cooperation.
