Four prisoners continue their hunger strike

Four detainees in Israeli occupation prisons continue their hunger strike, refusing to be arrested, including three administrators.

The Prisoners’ Club reported that the detainees, Kayed Al-Fafsous from Dura/Hebron, and Sultan Khallouf from Burqin, southwest of Jenin, have been continuing their hunger strike for 28 days, and Abdel Rahman Baraka from Aqabat Jaber camp, south of Jericho, for 21 days, in refusal of their administrative detention.

Detainee Maher Al-Akhras has also continued his strike for eight days, in refusal to arrest him, and the occupation court extended his detention last Thursday for seven days for investigation.

The Prisoners’ Club confirmed in a telephone call with “Wafa” that the occupation prison administration continues its tormenting measures against the hunger strikers, detaining them in harsh conditions inside the cells, and putting psychological and physical pressure on them, in an attempt to dissuade them from continuing their strike.

He added that the health conditions of the hunger strikers are actually worsening over time, noting that three of the strikers had previously gone on long strikes, which actually affected their health conditions.

It is noteworthy that since 2011, the number of individual strikes has exceeded 440, most of which are against administrative detention.

It is noteworthy that the number of administrative detainees reached more than 1,200 detainees, and this percentage is the highest since the years of the Al-Aqsa Intifada

Under patronage of President al-Assad, excelled sons of the martyrs honored

Under the patronage of Commander-in-Cheif of the Army and Armed Forces, President Bashar al-Assad, a ceremony was held at Dar al- Assad for Culture and Arts to honor excelled students of the martyrs’ sons in the basic and general secondary education certificates for the year 2023.

On behalf of President, General Ali Mahmoud Abbas, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces , Minister of Defense, sponsored the ceremony.

Syrian-Chinese talks on cooperation in power sector

Minister of Electricity, Ghassan al-Zamil, discussed with Chinese Ambassador in Damascus, Shi Hongwei, means of developing cooperation between the two countries in the power sector.

Minister al-Zamil hailed china’s positions in support of Syria in all difficult times the country has passed through.

Chinese Ambassador Hongwei stressed that there will be more cooperation in this field, saying that restoring Syria’s strong role is essential for the regional and international stability.

Hongwei reiterated his country’s position refusing the interference in Syria’s domestic affairs and any sanctions imposed on it.

KSrelief Distributes 49 Tons of Food Baskets in Sindh Province, Pakistan

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday distributed 49 tons and 875 kilograms of food baskets in Dadu District of Sindh Province in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, benefiting 3,675 vulnerable individuals in flood-affected areas.

Qatar Volleyball Team Await Tough Games in Paris 2024 Qualifiers

Qatar men’s national volleyball team will kick off their Olympic Games Paris 2024 qualifiers in the period from Sep. 30 to Oct. 8.

Qatar will compete in Group A that also includes hosts Brazil, Italy, Germany, Ukraine, Cuba, Iran and the Czech Republic.

Volleyball competitions of Olympic Games Paris 2024 will feature 24 teams. France secured participation in the tournament as reigning champions.

President of Qatar Volleyball Association, Ali Ghanim Al Kuwari affirmed the team would be offered appropriate training ahead of the qualifiers, hailing their high performance in the latest international competitions.

Recently, Qatari defeated Thailand and Chile in the World Challenge Cup before losing to Turkey. They finished third in Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship, which was held in Aug. in Iran.

OIC Secretary-General Condemns Military Coup in Gabon

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Ibrahim Taha, condemned in the strongest terms the attempted military coup in the Gabonese Republic. He stressed that the OIC is following with great concern the situation and attempts to seize power by force.

Taha confirmed the need to respect democratic institutions and that the rule of law is essential to ensure legitimate governance in Gabon, urging all parties to exercise restraint and work for the speedy restoration.
