UAE leaders congratulate Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on National Day

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, have sent messages of congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, on the occasion of the Kingdom’s 93rd National Day.

The UAE leaders also dispatched similar messages to Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister on the occasion.

Al-Shibl: Syrian-Chinese strategic relationship was built decades ago

Special Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, Luna Al-Shibl, stressed that the strategic relationship between Syria and China was built decades ago, hailing China’s role on the international arena and its foundation for a new path in the common development.

The importance of the Syrian-Chinese diplomatic relations lays in their strategic relations that were built for 70-year ago and that those relations are based on common goals and political language, in addition to the unity of approach in dealing with common issues, which formed the deep compatibility between the two countries based on the joint principles and interests, Al-Shibl said in a statement to al-Thawra and Tishreen newspapers from the Chinese city, Hangzhou.

Al-Shibl added that the Syrian-Chinese summit, held yesterday, confirms that China is building an international policy outside its walls based on principles, mutual respect, and common prosperity, to establish clear and deep alliances for the stability of the region and the world, especially with the countries that have stood firm and steadfast in the face of the Western camp, which builds its existence through occupation and hegemony.

In the presence of President al-Assad and First Lady,Mrs. Asma al-Assad, the 19th Asian Games opened in China’s Hangzhou

In the presence of President Bashar al-Assad and First Lady,Mrs. Asma al-Assad, the 19th Asian Games was officially opened on Saturday in China’s Hangzhou.

Chinese President Xi Jinping, a number of presidents of states, international sports officials, and heads of participating delegations, in addition to eighty thousand spectators attended the opening ceremony.

The Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium is lighted during the opening ceremony ,in addition to a parade of participating sports delegations.

The Acting President of the Olympic Council of Asia, Raja Randhir Singh highlighted the efforts of the Organizing Committee for the Asian Games through its preparations for the continental sports festival.

Head of the Syrian sports delegation participating in the Asian Games indicated that the Syrian athletes will compete in the individual games, expressing confidence in them to achieve an important achievement in the competitions.

A total of 12,000 athletes from 45 countries will be in action in 40 sports at the continental meet.

This is the 11th participation of Syria in the Asian tournaments, which were first organized in New Delhi, India, in 1951.

Syrian participation in the Asian tournaments began in 1978 in the Thai city of Bangkok.

Syria participates in five games with athletes Ahmad Ghassoun and Muhammad Melis competing in boxing , Maan Asaad in weightlifting, Omar Sarem and Naal Barazi in wrestling , Majd al-Din Ghazal in high jump ,and Ahamad Hamshu and Omro Hamshu in equestrianism.

The Asian Games will continue until October 8th, 2023.

King of Morocco Congratulates Saudi Leadership on 93rd National Day

King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco has sent a cable of congratulations to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the anniversary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s 93rd National Day.

In a cable sent to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Mohammed VI stressed his country’s constant pride in the close brotherly relations with Saudi Arabia, and the keenness of the two leaderships to continue their tireless and distinguished path towards greater integration and fruitful cooperation.

King Mohammed VI has also congratulated His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister on the anniversary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s 93rd National Day.

The King of Morocco wished the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its people on this glorious occasion further progress and prosperity.

Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz has congratulated Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of the 93rd National Day.

The defense minister said, ‘On this occasion, we remember the story of glory, struggle, and heroism, which built a great homeland for us, and in which the world witnessed a tale of great unification, at the hands of its founder King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman who founded a proud and glorious country’.

Prince Khalid bin Salman added that the growth process has since been launched, and continuing its development and achievements with unrelenting determination under this auspicious era, led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who pay attention to the country’s growth, pioneering and development.

He continued, ‘The Ministry of Defense is enjoying the attention of the wise leadership and its constant care, which has resulted in the acceleration of the Ministry’s development and new transformation, to be according to the highest levels of efficiency, effectiveness, and preparedness.’

The Minister extended sincere greetings to the personnel of the ministry, the courageous soldiers of the nation, and the families of the martyrs. Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates have sent congratulatory cables to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister on the occasion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s 93rd National Day.

The cables were sent by Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi of Sharjah, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi of Fujairah, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla of Umm Al Qaiwain, and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah.

Saudi Foreign Minister Meets Brunei Second Foreign Minister

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met yesterday with Second Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Erywan Yusof on the sidelines of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in all fields in addition to the latest international developments.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, and Director General of the Foreign Minister’s Office Abdulrahman Al-Daoud.

UN Secretary General Pledges Efforts to Renew Truce in Yemen

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has pledged ?to exert all efforts to renew the truce in Yemen, ?restart the political process, and enable Yemenis to build ?a state based on partnership and respect for human rights??

During a meeting in New York with Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) President Rashad al-Alimi, Guterres renewed the ?international organization’s commitment to supporting the ? PLC and government, the official Yemeni news agency SABA reported.?

The Yemeni president, on the other hand, said? that the ?government is open to initiatives that could lead to a comprehensive ?solution agreed upon at national, regional and international levels, ?particularly to those respecting UN resolutions and international legitimacy.

He also praised the mediation efforts ?led by Saudi Arabia and Oman to ?renew the truce and launch a political process under UN auspices.

Occupation Forces Arrest 8 Palestinians in West Bank

The Israeli occupation forces arrested today eight Palestinians from various areas in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) reported that the occupation forces arrested five young men while they were trying to pass their vehicle at the Beit Furik checkpoint, east of Nablus, pointing out that it deliberately restricts the pressure on about 24,000 Palestinians from the towns of Beit Furik and Beit Dajan on an almost daily basis.

The occupation forces also arrested two Palestinians as they passed through the Dotan military checkpoint, which is located on the lands of the town of Yabad in the Jenin Governorate, while another Palestinian was arrested after his house was raided and searched in the Jourat Al-Shamaa area, east of Yatta, in Hebron.

On the other hand, the occupation forces set up several military checkpoints at the entrances to towns and camps in Hebron Governorate, checked the identities of Palestinians and searched their vehicles.

It is noteworthy that a young Palestinian man was martyred yesterday, Friday, as a result of his injuries sustained during the Israeli occupation forces storming of the village of Kafr Dan, west of the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank. A number of Palestinians were also injured by live bullets, and dozens by suffocation, after the occupation forces targeted peaceful marches in the eastern Gaza Strip.

Qatar Takes Part in Second High-Level Meeting of United Nations on Fight Against Tuberculosis

The State of Qatar participated in the second high-level meeting of the United Nations on the fight against tuberculosis.

HE Minister of Public Health (MoPH), Chairperson of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization, Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, represented the State of Qatar in the meeting.

In her remark during the meeting, HE Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari underscored the State of Qatar’s firm position on the collective work to achieve the goals that were agreed upon and determined in the sustainable development plan for 2030, along with the strategy on the fight against tuberculosis.

The State of Qatar has given a top priority to lay out an integrated health care system that offers high-quality preventive and curative health services and adheres to international standards, HE Dr Al Kuwari said, adding that the Qatar national vision 2030 – that sets human development as a core pillar – stresses the importance prioritized for health as a key driver for sustainable development, offering physical and psychological health, as well as welfare for population.

Her Excellency outlined that the second National Health Strategy 2018-2022 laid out a solid foundation to curb health challenges, with a sharp focus on the population’s health and ensure the integrated care for them, particularly with respect to tuberculosis disease, pointing out that MoPH is currently intensifying efforts to launch the third national strategy for health with a special emphasis on curbing tuberculosis.

HE Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari noted that stemming from the global solidarity and cooperation and in alignment with the commitment to promote global endeavors for a healthier and more equitable future for all, the State of Qatar made an additional pledge during the 7th conference for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria for 2022 worth USD50 million for the Global Fund with the total amount of fund reaching USD110 million.

Overall, such consolidated commitment and powerful partnerships undertake a pivotal role in combating communicable diseases, including tuberculosis, Al Kuwari outlined.

HE Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari said she is optimistic the outcomes of the second high-level meeting on the fight against tuberculosis will constitute a critical milestone in the fight against tuberculosis, and ultimately make a tangible difference in the life of millions of people worldwide, notwithstanding the great challenges imposed by COVID-19 Pandemic.

The sustainable health systems, investment in research and development, as well as equitable access to the means of prevention, test, cure, and care are pivotal in alleviating people’s suffering, reducing fatalities, in addition to halting the spread of tuberculosis, Her Excellency said.

Stemming from this, she added, the optimal role carried by the World Health Organization (WHO) is recognized since WHO is the leading entity in health field, along with its unwavering efforts which are highly appreciated in the global response to tuberculosis and in providing counselling and support.

The second high-level meeting of the United Nations on the fight against tuberculosis was held under the theme of: “Advancing science, finance and innovation, and their benefits, to urgently end the global tuberculosis epidemic, in particular, by ensuring equitable access to prevention, testing, treatment and care.” The meeting conducted an overarching review to achieve the goals on tuberculosis as agreed at the national, regional, and international levels in the political declaration of 2018, as well as identify loopholes and solutions to accelerate progress towards ending tuberculosis by 2030.
