4.5-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Coast of Fiji

Doha: An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale struck on Tuesday the coast of Fiji in the South Pacific.

According to Qatar News Agency, the US Geological Survey said that the earthquake's epicenter was at a depth of 568.6 km. There have been no reports so far of casualties or material damage resulting from the tremor, it added.

Fiji is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, a region that frequently experiences tremors and aftershocks, some of which can be powerful.
