Vanuatu: An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck Sunday the islands of Vanuatu in the South Pacific Ocean.
According to Qatar News Agency, the United States Geological Survey said in a statement that the earthquake occurred 105 km south of the town of Port Olry, at a depth of 10 km. So far, no casualties or damage have been reported as a result of the earthquake.
Vanuatu Island, an archipelago of volcanic origin in the South Pacific Ocean, is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where tectonic plates meet and their friction with each other leads to seismic activity.
