Enggano: An earthquake measuring 4.9 magnitude on the Richter scale struck on Sunday Enggano Island in Indonesia.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) said that the epicenter of the quake occurred 87 km southeast Enggano, at a depth of 21 km.
There have been no reports of casualties or material damage.
Indonesia is regularly exposed to earthquakes due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where many tectonic plates meet and cause frequent volcanic and seismic activity.
