Al-Aqsa Mosque Incursions Raise Concerns of Permanent Changes

Jerusalem:The increasing Israeli incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque during Jewish holidays are intended to establish a permanent presence protected by Israeli occupation police, warned Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, the preacher of the mosque. He noted that these actions represent a troubling escalation in the frequency and nature of the attacks.

According to Qatar News Agency, Sheikh Sabri emphasized that the threat goes beyond the incursions themselves. He pointed out that each new ritual permitted, each advance made, and each Israeli official participating in these acts is a step towards transforming exceptions into a lasting reality.

Sheikh Sabri highlighted that Al-Aqsa Mosque, covering an area of 144 dunams, remains an exclusively Islamic site for Muslims. He asserted that any attempt to impose new rituals does not change its identity but is a precursor to dividing the mosque by time and space.

Statistics from the Jerusalem Governorate indicate that over 40,661 settlers have entered Al-Aqsa Mosque from the start of the year until the end of August. Additionally, approximately 800 orders have been issued to bar Jerusalemites from the mosque from the beginning of the year to early September.
