Doha: Al Duhail have announced the signing of French goalkeeper Arthur Desmas to join the club's first team. The club confirmed the deal on its official website but did not disclose the length of the contract. The move is part of Al Duhail's ongoing efforts to strengthen its squad ahead of the current season.
According to Qatar News Agency, Desmas brings extensive experience from French football, having previously played for several clubs including Brest, Niort, Rodez, Clermont, and most recently, Le Havre. Al Duhail are aiming to contend for titles this season, both domestically and in the AFC Champions League Elite, after finishing last season without securing any silverware.
The team currently sits sixth in the Qatar Stars League standings with eight points from six matches. Later today, Al Duhail faces Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli in the second round of the AFC Champions League group stage.
