Al raya: Al Raya newspaper warned of the growing policy of forced displacement and expulsion of residents in the West Bank, which Israel has pursued for years through the demolition of homes and the seizure of land and property under illegitimate pretexts, all to enable the establishment of settlement outposts.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newspaper pointed out in its editorial today the escalating pace of forced displacement in the West Bank and Jerusalem, noting that Israeli occupation forces are systematically working to clear refugee camps of their residents through military operations aimed at ethnic cleansing.
It said that Israel has destroyed camps in the West Bank, displaced Palestinians, and placed entire communities under siege, forcing many to flee through the use of overwhelming force, whether by live fire, aerial or artillery bombardment, or the deployment of military vehicles, bulldozers, and tanks to destroy buildings and infrastructure. It added that Israel has severely restricted Palestinian movement, significantly ramped up home demolitions, and engaged in arbitrary arrests and the mistreatment of both civilians and human rights defenders.
The newspaper noted that occupation forces forced 30 more Palestinian families yesterday to leave their homes in the Arab Al Mleihat Bedouin community, located northwest of Jericho in the West Bank, due to ongoing assaults by Israeli troops and settlers.
It concluded its editorial by stating that this displacement constitutes forced transfer and is considered a war crime, possibly even a crime against humanity, as these actions reflect a broader, systematic Israeli policy designed to strip Palestinians of their property, assert control over them, and suppress their existence.
