Doha: The Social Protection and Rehabilitation Center (Aman), affiliated with the Qatar Social Work Foundation and operating under the Ministry of Social Development and Family, has been awarded the ISO 45001:2018 certification for occupational health and safety management systems. This certification is issued by the International Organization for Standardization based in Switzerland.
According to Qatar News Agency, Aman has also successfully renewed its ISO 9001:2015 certification, which pertains to quality management systems. Acting Executive Director of Aman, Fadal Mohammed Al Kaabi, commented on these developments, highlighting the Center’s dedication to renewing its ISO certification as part of its commitment to providing high-quality services to women, children, and victims of family disintegration due to violence. The Center focuses on protecting, rehabilitating, and reintegrating these individuals into society.
Al Kaabi emphasized the dedication of Aman’s staff to adhering to best practices, which enhances work quality and strengthens the Center’s capacity to fulfill its mission. He also pointed to the importance of employee development in line with international standards, particularly in dealing with Aman’s target groups. This involves utilizing the latest educational, social, psychological, and legal approaches, along with information technology, to safeguard privacy and achieve excellence in care and support for women and children, both within the residential care department and beyond.
He further noted that these efforts align with Aman’s commitment to contributing to the strategic goals of Qatar National Vision 2030. Al Kaabi highlighted the significance of the ISO 45001:2018 certification, which ensures a safe and healthy environment for staff and service receivers, especially within residential care facilities. This certification supports minimizing health risks and reducing incidents.
Alia Al Sumaiti, Head of the Planning and Development Office at Aman, stressed the importance of continuously enhancing performance mechanisms and service quality to better meet the needs and expectations of service receivers. She added that attaining both certifications is a significant step forward in achieving institutional excellence and developing internal competencies in alignment with Aman’s development strategy.
