Egypt and UN Stress Support for Gaza and Reconstruction Conference Preparations


Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty emphasized, during a phone call on Saturday with United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza Sigrid Kaag, the critical need to intensify international and UN support for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in the coming period.



According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, Abdelatty reviewed the Arab plan for Gaza’s reconstruction and the ongoing preparations for the early recovery and reconstruction conference, which will be hosted by Egypt in collaboration with the UN and the Palestinian government.



The Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed the necessity of the international community providing all forms of support to help restore basic services in Gaza, initiate early recovery activities, rehabilitate infrastructure, and make the region livable again while countering plans to displace its residents.
