Beirut: The Arab League General Secretariat announced on Tuesday the successful delivery of the initial batch of humanitarian and medical aid to Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health. This effort comes as Lebanon grapples with ongoing humanitarian challenges.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Arab League's first shipment included 436 out of a total 609 aid packages, collectively weighing seven tonnes. The remaining aid is expected to be delivered to Lebanon in the coming days.
This initiative follows a decision made during an emergency meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Health Ministers on March 18. The meeting resolved to provide Lebanon with urgent medicines, medical supplies, and essential materials aimed at supporting its people during this crisis.
The statement from the Arab League emphasized the Council's dedication to providing continuous health and humanitarian support to member states facing crises and emergencies, thereby enhancing their ability to tackle various challenges.
