Doha: Al Raya highlighted that the overwhelming international consensus condemning the Israeli terrorist attack on Qatar, along with the strong denunciations from most countries and the UN Security Council’s adoption of a resolution condemning Israel’s act of treachery, reflects Qatar’s prominent global standing, earned through years of successful diplomacy and the country’s dedication to mediation and peaceful solutions.
According to Qatar News Agency, in its Saturday editorial, the paper noted that it is rare for so many nations to unite in rejecting and criminalizing Israeli terrorism, but Qatar’s political efforts have succeeded in further isolating what it called a criminal entity. The editorial said that, no matter what empty justifications or threats the Israeli prime minister issued against it, the world has rallied behind Qatar by defending its sovereignty, security, and stability, as well as its international efforts to end the brutal war in Gaza and to secure a prisoner-exchange agreement.
It pointed out that the Security Council’s condemnation marks the start of Qatar’s legal moves against the Israeli attack and that Qatar will continue to pursue all necessary legal actions to hold the extremist Israeli government accountable. The paper stressed that Israel, already isolated and shunned globally, now faces the path of justice, with its leaders wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes against the defenseless Palestinian people.
The editorial added that Israeli leaders know they cannot impose a new reality or break the growing wave of international support for the Palestinian cause through violence, assassinations, or attempts to spread chaos and discord in Arab countries. Such an attack on Doha, it said, would only strengthen Qatar’s leadership, government, and people in their unwavering commitment to the just Palestinian cause and their support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.
The newspaper underlined that Qatar will continue to promote preventive diplomacy, political solutions, and active mediation, while Israel’s actions will only deprive it of allies, as demonstrated by the recent UN General Assembly vote in favor of the New York Declaration on implementing a two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state, where 142 countries voted in favor, 10 opposed, and 12 abstained.
Al Raya concluded by noting that the worldwide street protests against Israeli brutality toward Gaza’s children, the deliberate starvation policies, and the sanctions imposed on members of Israel’s extremist government all signal that this entity is on a path of self-destruction and that there will be no future for a racist, terrorist state that boasts of killing innocents while issuing hollow threats to the world.
