Brussels: Brussels Airport announced Monday the cancelation of all departing flights next Thursday due to a general strike in Belgium.
According to Qatar News Agency, the airport said in a statement that arriving flights will also be affected as ground crews and security personnel join the strike.
This strike comes as part of a series of union protests that the country has recently witnessed, in objection to the pension system reform that the next federal government intends to implement, as unions reject the proposed pension system reforms, considering that they harm workers’ rights and increase their burdens.
