Chaired by Qatar, Committee of Conventions and Recommendations Submits Recommendations to UNESCO’s Executive Board


Paris: HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Dr. Nasser bin Hamad Al Hanzab presented the report of the Conventions and Recommendations Committee during the meetings of UNESCO’s Executive Board, held from Apr. 2 to Apr. 17 in Paris.



According to Qatar News Agency, the Committee, chaired by HE Dr. Al Hanzab, conducted two general sessions to review the Executive Board’s provisions on the implementation of UNESCO’s regulatory and legal documents. The discussions addressed mechanisms for enforcing UNESCO agreements and recommendations and monitoring their implementation by Member States.



The Committee ensured the execution of all necessary procedures to track the application of UNESCO conventions and recommendations.



The Committee also deliberated on several issues related to human rights within UNESCO’s areas of responsibility, focusing on strategies to enhance international human rights protection in accordance with the Executive Board’s resolutions and UNESCO’s legal instruments on human rights.
