Doha: China's meteorological authority renewed a blue alert for a cold wave on Thursday, as freezing air is set to sweep across most parts of the country in the coming days.
According to Qatar News Agency, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) reports that the cold wave will bring sharp temperature drops of over 10 degrees Celsius in the Huanghuai region. This region includes parts of several provinces, such as Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Shandong, along with most areas to the north of the Huanghuai region.
The NMC further indicated that temperatures in most southern regions are expected to decrease by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius, with certain areas experiencing drops of more than 10 degrees, as reported by China's News Agency (Xinhua).
China employs a four-tier color-coded weather warning system, in which red signifies the most severe warning, followed by orange, yellow, and blue.
