China’s Non-Manufacturing PMI Slightly Rises to 50.4 in February


Beijing: The Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for China’s non-manufacturing sector recorded a reading of 50.4 in February, reflecting a minor increase of 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous month, as announced by the National Bureau of Statistics of China.



According to Qatar News Agency, a PMI reading above 50 indicates expansion, whereas a reading below 50 signifies contraction in the sector. The sub-index specifically for the service sector was reported at 50.0 in February, showing a slight decrease of 0.3 percentage points from January.



In February, business activity indices for sectors such as air transport, postal services, telecommunications, radio, television, satellite transmission services, monetary and financial services, and capital market services maintained levels above 55, indicating robust performance in these areas.



The construction sub-index marked an improvement, reaching 52.7, which is 3.4 percentage points higher than January. Additionally, the manufacturing sector’s PMI was reported at 50.2 in February, reflecting an increase of 1.1 percentage points from the previous month.
