Doha: HE Croatia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Ante Susnjar invited Qatari businessmen to invest in his country and benefit from the facilities and investment opportunities it offers. This call to action was made during the Qatar-Croatia Business Meeting, held at Qatar Chamber with the presence of HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Dr Gordan Grlic Radman. The Qatari representation was led by Second Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba.
According to Qatar News Agency, on the sidelines of the forum, Qatar Chamber and the Croatian Chamber of Economy signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation and coordination between the Qatari and Croatian private sectors. This significant document was signed by Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba and Secretary General of the Croatian Chamber of Economy Marina Ruzic.
The MoU intends to facilitate the exchange of economic information, particularly regarding foreign trade, production, and export opportunities for businesses in both countries. It also seeks to enhance collaboration on company products and organize exhibitions and trade fairs in both Qatar and Croatia. Moreover, it promotes cooperation in exhibitions, exchange visits, and regular meetings for representatives from both sides to explore and develop new avenues for economic partnership and strengthen bilateral trade relations.
HE Ante Susnjar praised the signing of the MoU, emphasizing its role in strengthening trade ties and expanding economic cooperation between the two countries. He highlighted the strong economic potential and shared interests between Qatar and Croatia, noting Croatia’s position as a gateway to the European Union with stable infrastructure and attractive investment opportunities.
Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba affirmed that Qatar and Croatia enjoy strong and rapidly growing relations, driven by high-level mutual visits between leaders, government officials, and trade delegations. He expressed hope that the Qatar-Croatia Business Meeting and the signed MoU would pave the way for new opportunities in private sector cooperation between both countries.
Al Athba emphasized the keen interest of Qatari business owners in strengthening ties with Croatian counterparts through partnerships and trade alliances. He reiterated Qatar Chamber’s commitment to supporting and facilitating this cooperation, ensuring all necessary assistance to boost investments across various sectors. Al Athba also encouraged Croatian companies to collaborate with Qatari businesses, highlighting Qatar’s numerous investment incentives, world-class infrastructure, and advanced economic legislation.
Marina Ruzic, Secretary General of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, praised the strong and growing relations between Qatar and Croatia, emphasizing that the MoU would facilitate greater economic cooperation and help overcome obstacles in the private sector. During the meeting, the Croatian delegation delivered a presentation titled “Croatia: Your Economic Partner”, highlighting key economic incentives and prominent investment opportunities across sectors such as real estate, information technology, tourism, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, finance, and renewable energy.
The meeting also included bilateral discussions between business leaders and company representatives from both Qatar and Croatia. The Croatian delegation comprised representatives of 20 leading Croatian companies in the European markets, specializing in sectors such as infrastructure, energy, information technology, tourism, and food security.
