Culture Minister Inaugurates Tajik Cultural Week in Doha

Doha: HE Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan Matlubakhon Sattoriyen on Monday inaugurated the Tajik Cultural Week. The event is held as part of the State of Qatar's vision to foster civilizational dialogue and broaden the horizons of cultural exchange with various countries of the world, as well as consolidate culture as a shared space for human convergence.

According to Qatar News Agency, the opening ceremony showcased a series of Tajik heritage performances on the main stage of the Ministry of Culture. Running from Feb. 8-11, the event provides an extraordinary experience on the platforms of Tajik culture and arts. Sattoriyen emphasized the role of culture as a bridge between peoples, highlighting the deep-rooted connections between Qatar and Tajikistan and their shared contributions to international civilization.

Sattoriyen noted that the two nations have been building enduring pillars for international dialogue, viewing each other as partners in cultural and intellectual exchanges. She described Qatar as an intellectual and cultural oasis, emphasizing that culture has become a form of diplomacy, elevating the relationship between the two countries. The cultural week is seen as a statement for peace and reconciliation, reflecting the strengthened ties between Qatar and Tajikistan.

The agenda for the cultural week features a wide range of events that showcase the rich culture of Tajikistan. These include traditional fashion shows, musical evenings, handicrafts exhibitions, and visual arts presentations, highlighting the cultural connections and mutual understanding between the two nations.
