Cybercrime Task Force for Middle East and North Africa Convenes in Doha

Doha: The 15th meeting of the Middle East and North Africa Cybercrime Task Force for unit heads kicked off Monday in Doha. The three-day event, hosted by the Ministry of Interior, is organized by the Cybercrime Directorate of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL).

According to Qatar News Agency, the opening session was attended by HE Assistant Undersecretary for Technical and Specialized Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, Staff Major General Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Suwaidi, along with senior officials and representatives from member states and relevant organizations.

The meeting aims to strengthen regional operational cooperation between INTERPOL and member countries by addressing current challenges in combating cybercrimes, while also fostering the exchange of expertise and best practices.

This meeting holds special significance with the launch of the first joint operation by INTERPOL's regional cybercrime office, aimed at curbing electronic crimes within a coordinated legal framework.
